Can you say SWEEP! Boston Red Sox!! 2007 World Series Champions… you can feel the energy in my entire household. It’s electric. I do believe Mr. Knitpho is in still somewhat shock. The championship in 2004 took a little longer getting used to since it hadnt happened in..ohhhh.. FOREVER. But this.. our kids, who are “born into it”, who don’t have a lot of chocies when it comes to who the want to be a fan of. They are and always will be die hard Red Sox fans. They woke up this morning to the awesome news and what a way to start off a Monday. Now.. can I drag two kids into Boston by myself tomorrow and possibly get crushed to watch the parade? I’m thinking about about it!
So.. I guess knitting the Green Monster socks helped..I didn’t finish them, but I will because they will certainly keep Miss M’s toes very cozy, considering it was freezing this morning!
Between the baseball games, the football games, two parties, a cold and the knitting. Before the game – we carved. I love carving pumpkins.. I love scooping out the seeds.. and I love roasting the seeds and gobbling them down fresh out of the oven. MMM MMM MMM!
Now… I am going to go find some heavy duty drugs strong enough to make me be able to breath through my nose again, and clear this stuffy head. Thanks to Miss M, she passed along her icky sicky germs and YAY me.. I’m the proud owner of them now.

Ooooo. Last nights game was a nail biter. 2-1 Sox. Too close actually. Before as I checked into my Ravelry account to see what was new and exciting… I thought I’d hop on board the GREEN MONSTER SOCKS knit a long.. for during the games. Thanks for the heads up Diane! I went stash diving.. found the first thing green I could and casted on for Sox for Mia.
Just your everyday normal plain vanilla sock. Easier to knit while your watching at the same time. Little socks go F A S T! Now tonite, I’ll work on that other thing Im working on that I can’t show you or tell you about… and Mia’s sweater. What kind of magic knitter with gobs of time do I think I am.???
…It’s getting chilly here in New England. This weekends looking busy for this little family. our LAST soccer game..WOOHOO.. normally I wouldn’t be as excited as I am..but the coach is STUPID! A Halloween Party… Pumpkin Carving..BASEBALL!.. a birthday party..and MORE BASEBALL.

What sums up the week here at Chez Knitpho? Gross. Boring. Repetitive. Mrs. Knitpho needs a little excitement.. needs to get out and do something to shake things up a bit. What could that be. I think I’ll save my pennies and gets me a plane ticket to see one of my girls. I don’t know how long this will take me, but I’m gonna do it. I may have to save up for 3 separate plane tickets… so this may take a while. Hmmmm. What can I sell on Ebay? (as she looks around the house). I was talking with a friend from for ever ago… and she had a party in the middle of the week to watch the finale of Big Brother. Needless to say, she was exhausted Wednesday morning when it was time to get up and get her family ready for the day. A little hungover didn’t help much. We laughed at the thought of us in our early 20′s.. going out EVERY SINGLE NIGHT! Getting up.. working.. and then doing it again. The bounce back was remarkable and very impressive if I do say so myself. Those were good times. Then.. fast forward to today. Well, that just isn’t possible.. but it would be nice to go back (with those people, ALL OF THEM!) and just laugh and enjoy the time together, we have lots of GOOD memories stored up!!! Things change, people change and life moves on. Life gets in the way, but in a good way –
As a stay at home mom, the monotony of your day to day can be deafening.. can I get an AMEN? When, now my day consists is getting a big chunk done on my knitting, and homework is a breeze, when my son dives off the high board into 10ft water, when my 2 (soon to be 3) can write the letter M.. and the number 3! (high fives YO!) These things are beyond better than nights out and the social scene. As Tommy Lee would say.. “been there, wrecked that shit!” And, I’m pretty sure I was there. If memory serves.
I love my days then, I cherish my days now! Even when it’s the worst day ever. Because tomorrow is a new day.
by the way, there is knitting being done. it’s just you know a few rows here and there… soccer practice tonight.. so I should be able to get a huge chunk done on something. There are lots of WIP’s happening… maybe too many. Dumb Stupid Chrstmas list.

So.. it’s going through a bit of a transistion right now and eventually you’ll see something created special just for me and the blog (no rush Sarah!)
So, did everyone have a nice weekend? I know you did Meredith! And Danielle? She had a bachelorette party with gross strippers and everything. How rude to have not invited me… right? I didn’t craft at all over the weekend. It was a fall clean up weekend in our house. Along with birthday celebrations for my mother in law. Let me tell you something about family get togethers in my family. It involves 4 core people. Always. We are the most important after all. Hubbo, ME! my SIL Sarah whom most of you know and her Hubbo…. the four of us together create energy and chaos at the same time. We’re the cool kids. Atleast in my head we are. But, we all trekked over my mother in laws with Pizza and Vino. We killed the pizza. We killed the bottle(s) of wine.. we played Scene It and got loud and obnoxious. Yes.. maybe even a little raunchy at time. My MIL is one tough cookie and we like to see how much she can actually handle. Me alone is one thing, but the 4 of us… it’s supah crazy!
So.. with all that going on and ofcourse life in general.. the weekend was over before we knew it. Today, it’s all about laundry and cleaning up around la casa. I’m still knitting on that damn sock. Let me tell you something.. socks on size 1′s.. takes for freakin’ ever. I don’t recommend. Go with a 3 if not a 2. Ones.. just aren’t for me. But, I am going to buy some yarn today to start Mia’s sweater and maybe a Christmas gift or two. Oh yeah..the embroidery.. Lady D is coming over again tomorrow for stitchin’ and bitchin’. I’ll post pics of our awesome work after.

It’s Friday…of a 3 day weekend. WAHOO!
My boy had a fantastical 9th birthday. His Nana came over, along with Auntie & Uncle and we had a grand time of playing with all his stuff and I tried to borrow some $, but he said no. We ate chocolate cake & birthday party ice cream..and ofcourse in true Knitpho household style.. we killed a bottle of wine. Although, there may have been more…..
Knitting? Me? NO! I can’t do it. Well, then again I really haven’t had time. Between school starting this week and him already getting homework (umm, algebra!) and ofcourse his birthday, the sock with the broken needle, sits. Waiting for the stitches to be rearranged, so I can work the sock with 4 instead of 5 and move forward.
However, have any of you started thinking about Christmas yet? As in handknitted gifts. I made a list of what I would want to do for everyone.. well,not everyone…but the ones who apprecriate. The list got long. Quick. Not to mention, I wanted to try things that I never done before and make them in multiples… it’s September tomorrow. I guess I should get busy. Maybe if I step away from the laptop… fly around the house real fast and clean up.. I can knit and play the rest of the day….the weekend for that matter.
Here I go. I’m gonna give it a shot. Maybe by the end of the day, you”ll see a finished sock. No, I’m not drunk. I can finish a sock if I really wanted to in a day. Oh yeah. I forgot I have a 2 year old. Nevermind.
HAPPY LABOR DAY WEEKEND!
It’s Friday! July 6! My birthday officially is over. However, my birthday week is still going strong through Saturday night. You know a full week, I think that is fair. I had a great day yesterday and thank you so much for all the birthday wishes. It was a low key day as expected…with a nice dinner out with my hubby & kiddies. A perfect day. My girlfriend Candra sent me an awesome gift. She got me a super cool Starbucks coffee cup, and did you know that it was EST 1971, just like me! I did know that, and I have wanted one of these mugs forever – and now I gots my very own! That along with a tasty Starbucks giftcard, life will be good in about 30minutes when I drag my kids to the local watering hole! Mmmmm. Starbucks.
As far as knitting goes…. GAG! I can’t do it. I want to cast on for my sock and have it well on it’s way before I get on the plane on Tuesday. However, it’s a simple sock, and what if I finish it over the weekend? At this rate, I don’t see that happening since I can’t even cast on, and if I cast on I can’t seem to get the ribbing right and I have a huge wide gap between needle 4 and needle 1, that drives me NUTSO! Then another project that I want to do, but wait, I can’t do that either because I don’t have the right size circular needles, so back to AC Moore I go, again. They better have what I need too, or I might pull a nutty.
Now, today I HAVE to start getting ready for our trip. I have to get my clothes ready, because I don’t do Durango wear anymore. I mean, it’s a very casual little corner of heaven.. but since I’ve been gone.. I don’t sport the uber casual wear like I once used to. or tree hugger wear, or rodeo wear. Besides, I have to look extra good, you never know who you might run into walking down Main St USA… literally!
I am going to go check the mail, I was told there was something on it’s way from Tennessee!

I love that I got invited to a cocktail party for mom’s only last night, drank yummy martini’s and gambled.
I love that I am making new friends and have am the luckiest to have kept my oldest & dearest.
I love that in 26days I’ll be in the Rocky Mountain State for a four weeks.
I love that I’ll see my BFF while I am there. RIGHT?!
I love that I got to sleep in until 8 this morning. Heaven!
I love that little miss M is 88% potty trained.
I love that my kids are blessed with a great dad who works so hard to give us the life we have.
and what do I hate?
I hate that umbrella ella ella ella song.
I hate going to the gym, and haven’t been in a week and half.. Need to snap out of that.
I hate that it is almost happy hour and there is no Stella Artois in da hizzle.
I hate that I am actually blogging this shit.
ENOUGH! I think I’ll have a piece of chocolate cake & a scoop O ice cream and watch the Tivo’d Miami Top Chef.
Ofcourse Happy Fathers Day to all these dad’s out there who do it right. My hubby is one of them and well, my dad is epitomy of it all. Yeah.. he’s the bestest. I am a daddy’s girl, and so is Mia. It’s the life, I tell ya!

I am for certain that my friends & family have lists a mile long, of stupid or strange things I do, that when I do them – they point and laugh.? Really hard.
but, when it comes down to it, it’s hard to think of anything .. because in my little world, I do like to think that I am not strange at all.

In knitting news, I am still moving along with my monkey socks.. I haven’t really had time this week to knit.? Miles is almost out of school and well, we’re dealing with the potty. ? So, running to the loo every other minute .. hard to keep track of what row your on.? That’s ok.. she’s worth it.? Happy Thursday!
Turns out – I will not be back in Durango in time for the toe up sock class. BULLOCKS!? But, I’ve taught myself everything else from a book, so why not this?? (except socks, my SIL’s, MIL showed us how to do that).? So, I guess I’ll show myself how to do this too. The thought of making two socks at the same time, that sounds blissful.
But where there is bad news, there is good news.? We are having MAJOR (knock on wood again) success going on with this potty business.? We went out yesterday and bought Hello Kitty & Little Mermaid undies and well,? it clicked.? But again, knock on wood.
I am trying to convince my girlfriend Candra (everyone say hi to Candra) to start to knit.? She’s down in the ATL, an she picked up sewing.? But, I think she needs to know how to knit too.. because she’s not sewing as much as I think she should be knitting. ? I’ll have to get a starter upper package sent down south for her,? ? Oh, she’ll start knitting … muwhahahaha
Make a plan for June 9.? It World Knit in Public Day.? Where are you going to knit?
** oh yah… 30days from today … ITS MY BIRTHDAY!
Yesterday, something overcame me, and well.. I started to de-clutter.?? It starts out really good, and before you know ..the mess that one creates is overwhelming.??? My day went something like this… woke up (against my will) – got my boy ready for school and sent him on his way – mia is in full swing potty going — so I had to be on top of that — then for some crazy reason, I started to clean out our closet, I bagged up 5 bags of clothes and immediatley put them in my car, so they wouldn’t sit in my hallway until next year.? Then I went for a run.? down and back up my killer hill pushing the princess, then came home and almost went into cardiac arrest.? Went back out, mulched our flower beds, planted a few annuals and gave Olive (the dog) a shower since she was soaked from running through the sprinklers.. that dog loves the sprinklers.?? After that, I got us all ready, again .. took said clothes to Salvation Army, got my car washed and went to the grocery store, so I’d have something to feed my family for dinner.?? I was able to force put Mia down for a nap and take a fast shower and knit for an hour before my golden boy came home and had to do homework and then go to soccer practice.? Only to turn around after that was over and come home and make dinner, clean the kitchen, clean up the kids ..and finally get them in bed.? Finally, MONKEYTIME! I’m almost done with the leg, I wish I could go faster with these, but I’m only able to squeeze in little tidbits of time these days on knitting, oh so sad.
So, this morning .. it started again.? I cleaned my fridge out… all I can say is ICK.? There was a box of what I think were at one point strawberries stuck in the way way back… but now I’m going to lunch with my mother in law and Mia, and yes – I will have a noontime cocktail.? BECAUSE I CAN!
Gonna go squeeze in some sock time while she’s being hypnotized by Max & Ruby?? Where are those bunnies parents anyway?
