History has been made. Our new president has been elected and it is time to move forward. I am glad all the election insanity is behind us and we can move forward as a country and hope that elected officials and our new president can work to make this nation even better and even stronger. I love that I am lucky to have two children who are aware of what a historical election this was, and that they will hopefully remember this for the rest of their lives. Even though Miss M voted **red** because it was closest to pink, hopefully 14years from now when she can exercise her vote, she won’t do that again and know the facts of her choices and make a conscience decision.
My vote may not have been your vote and that my friends is the beauty of this country we live in. Choice. Freedom. Change.
Another weekend came and went. Busy busy busy.
Mia had her halloween themed ballet dance recital and she was just amazing. She got all the steps right and was just a shining star! That same day my boy was channeling Michael Phelps and swam like a total rockstar! Lap after lap… totaling about 350yards in 40minutes.. wow, right? I was beaming with pride, just when you think you can’t take motherhood any more and want to run away, really fast .. screaming.. the insanity settles and they just blow your mind…
… come to think of it, the weekend just got better and better. Story time morning out with a fab lady and her little princess! Halloween parties! BAMFK drinkfest/foodfest/laughfest! Mr K’s did a duathlon and then a Sunday afternoon of naps, food and tv.
I will have to play some major housework catch up tomorrow … as I didn’t do anything all weekend. WHOOPS. and I have to work out. my exercise regime has taken a hard hit this last month and I haven’t reached any of my monthly goals.. I better mentally whip myself into shape.. because as of late, I can’t stand me.
… i’ll have to take a picture of my current knitty project … the yarn is just outstanding.
Have a great monday bloggyland .. and a great last week of October!
and i just read what I wrote… and damn … I don’t blame you for not reading the whole thing. What the …?
left to right .. top to bottom
Brooks Farm Duet … Brooks Farm Solo … Blue Moons STR Jabberwocky and lastly Blue Moon STR Raven.
They are delicious and divine. They will safely be put away until I find the perfect project for each of them to show their brilliance in texture and in color.
if I put $1 a day away starting now til Rhinebeck 2009!!
Imagine the possibilities.
I know! Right?
… well. it’s time to admit defeat. it’s cold outside.
I love fall, I really do. I love decorating for Halloween..(if Mr. Knitpho is reading this, this is my request for you to get all my stuff out O the attic, please!) I love going apple picking with my offspring and now that I consider myself ‘active’ and maybe even possibly fall under the category of “runner”, outside takes on a whole new meaning. On Thursday morning, I laced up my shoes and off I went. The air was crisp and with each intake of breath, I could feel the sharp cleanse of my lungs and really loved every huff & puff that I took. As i trekked up my long ass hill and collapsed on my front steps, I gave myself a nice little pat on the back and took a look around the leaves were blowing… at that little moment, I appreciated everything all at once.
This weekend brings time together with my knitting peeps, as we are in a mission to complete something for one of our other fellow knitters who is not doing so well. On a higher note, wish Mr. Knitpho good luck, as he’ll be running a 10mile road race tomorrow and of course we’ll be there as his biggest fans cheering him on.
The coffee awaits and so does my knitting. Have a fantastical weekend.
oh my. has this bloggy taken a hit to the kneecaps or what? there just hasn’t been much going on over yonder at Chez Knitpho – So.. here’s a little wrap up and a little insight on what I’ve been up and what my eyes have seen.
We are back full swing into ballet and swim. Different parents, same stupidity. Not AS bad as the floor licker from last session, but close. These moms are excuse maker moms. You know the ones, their kids are allowed to act like assholes because they’re ‘tired’, ‘thirsty’, ‘hungry’.. ummm.. hi I’m tired, thirsty and hungry most of the time – but you don’t see me banging on the door to the ballet room or pouring all the water out of the water dispenser thing…. come on – get a grip. Last week, I had to say something, because they were playing tag .. and kept tripping over my feet..and I had finally had enough after the third run in.. and the moms we’re saying, ‘my, they are active today!’ and these are the same kids who can’t listen in class and the teacher has to keep stopping class to come get the moms to get their kids shit together, and before you know… times up and my kid misses out. So, yeah. I said something. It’ll be interesting today, when I go with my tazer gun.
Oh oh.. and one of the ladies whipped out her boob.. FULL BOOB right in front of my 10year old son – to nurse her almost 2 year old. Ummm. I’m all about breastfeeding, but show some discretion, especially at the Y when your sitting at the YOUTH/TEEN room that contains mostly all young boys.
oh.. to the moms at the park who sat on their asses the whole time while your kids threw sand & dirt at all the other kids.. your lucky that mine didn’t get hit with that.. if I see them doing it again next time I go.. I’m gonna key your mini-vans!
I got to go outlast night with my knitting peeps. We had a babyshower for two of our ladies who are expecting.. and ofcourse we do it up right, and went to the bar. Drank yummy delicious beers in front of the two who couldn’t, how nice are we?
That’s about it from these trenches. I’m looking forward to pizza and wine and a movie tonite with my main man – and doing a whole lotta knitting and relaxing over the next two days.
Have a great weekend!
It’s just before 830p and it’s dark, pitch dark. My knitting peeps all met at our favorite outside cafe tonite, I am thinking of them knitting in the dark and they might be a wee bit chilly. What is UP with this weather? Rain every day for weeks, then cooooool, not fonzie cool either, cool temperatures and now, the daylight savings is slowly going away. Please oh please summer, stay just a little longer, I beg of you. I did get a full dose of summer today, as we loaded up the car, met some freinds and hit the beach.

We frolicked in the ocean, we dug deep holes, we flew kites, we ate, we soaked up the sunshine!
However, I did forget to re-apply sunscreen and may have got a little red, just a little. woops!
School is right around the corner, so close I can taste my freedom. It’s bittersweet, for the little M, it’s the beginning of the rest of her school career – this will catapult her into public education. She’s ready, but am I? ::sniffsniff::
My Ravelympic project? Ummmmmmm. Yeah, that’s chugging right along. I will for sure not medal.. but I will finish by Sept 4. That’s the day the receiver of this precious blanket will make his/her way into this world! Let me tell you something, I know the mama is ready, but so am I. Yay BABY!
Where are the weeks going? What is happening to my poor neglected blog. I’ll tell you what.. between the fantastic Olympics that we watch around the clock, working on my Olympic project that I do not for see finishing by closing ceremonies next Sunday. But, I will finish in time for who the project is intended for , and thats all that matters!
Mr. Knitpho took a day off and we headed up to the Maine for the day. We went to a zoo and an amusement park and Mia and I got to stroll along the beach and we even saw a light house … you can see the pics hereif you are inclined
However, after it was all said and done and my dear 3 year old daredevil daughter went on every ride you could possibly imagine and more without batting an eyelash at the speed or the height of it, this picture captures it all.

After stuffing our faces full of salt water taffy and seaside treats – we made our way back home with two exhausted kiddies and two VERY exhausted parents. The weekend is busy with friends, family and freshly made blueberry pancakes that my kiddies picked yesterday!
Happy Sunday!
I haven’t blogged all week! What is UP with that. Well, mainly – I haven’t had a lot going on. It’s just one of those things, I guess.
A lot of annoying little tidbits that eat at my brain…. I guess I could rant, but I won’t. It’s really just that dumb, not worth my time to type it, and I don’t want you to not come back! So.. onward.
I am all set for the upcoming Ravelympics. I have picked my event and my team is all set. BAMFK IN DA HIZZLE! So, it was SUPPOSED to be a great big surprise, but I let the cat out of the bag today.. I am SO bad at keeping prezzie secrets. Actually, she knows it’s a blankie, but she doesn’t know what it looks like.. but I’m sure I’ll be posting.. I am the worst surprise gift giver EVER!
OH.. and I’ve been plurking.
After tennis yesterday, Danielle invited us to swim, and did we EVAH. My kiddies, and her kiddies and we did too, swam to our little hearts content, since it was crazy hot out. Ofcourse, my camera went with …

and.. I got one of Danielle’s daughter… is she not the cutest thing!!

I am ecstatic that Project Runway is back.. I am sewing a little dress for the princess…. and I hope to show you by the end of the weekend 2! finished sewing projects… so, watch our SUEDE, I’m gonna run you right over! I have a fun party to attend over the weekend (sans children!), so I am very happy about that. There you have it! BORING as EVER! I am knitting on my CPH stilll.. but working with wool in this heat, ummm no thank you. Thats why I am playing with the Mr. Singer these days.
Have a great weekend!!!!
My fridays just aren’t what they used to be – that’s for damn sure.
