All Sunday mornings should be like this.

Hello!

clapotis, originally uploaded by rkymtnmel.

Here I am again.. blogging very sporadically!! I just wanted to show you knitters my Clapotis. I turned out beyond gorgeous and it is so soft and skwooshy. I am in love. It’s about 65″ in length about maybe 20″ wide, but I didn’t meausre, so I’m really not even sure. It is pure luxury with this silk and it took me a LONG time, but I am happy it is done. After a mishap here and a mistake there, I will be wearing this baby through the entire spring !!

Thanks to my knitting peeps for making me so jealous of all of there’s that I just had to make my own.

That’s about all that’s new from this knitter. Just waiting for the snow to melt and the temps to warm up … we have some serious spring fever going on. It’s getting a bit on the depressing side. :(

HURRY SPRING! I NEED YOU!!!

C for Cookies

I made a bunch of Valentine cookies for my sweet little Valentine’s classes. Sugar cookie hearts, frosted with melted white chocolate chips and sprinkled with valentine sprinkles. It took a while, but it’ll be so worth it for the kids to take tomorrow .. on Friday the 13th.. oooooh spooooooky.

HAPPY FRIDAY

Then and Now. Wow.
My BFF Holly found a bunch of pics and decided to plaster her Facebook page with these little gems.
20 years between these photos, and wow, talk about a slap in the face and smack to reality. Gotta lose the fat in my face and I would really like that complexion back please. But, the hair.. oh my the hair. I wasn’t ever much of a featherer, but this must have been something I was going through, or deciding to give it a go. But, after all these years, I do have to say, my hair is one thing that has stayed tried & true. 1989 my friends.\

Shouldn’t I have my Judy Jetson flying car by now. ?!

2009!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!! Wishing you all a very happy and healthy and prosperous 2009.

2008 treated me and my fam well. I have no complaints. I reached goals that I never thought possible, I watched my husband complete his goals and helped my kids reach some amazing feats for themselves. A proud year for the Knitpho Family. This year I made some fantastic friends, they have brought me so much laughter and good conversation and knowledge, I am so thankful for all of them. I have grown closer to my oldest & dearest friends and I am truly thankful for my awesome parents, who that I guess is my only complaint is that I didn’t get to see them in 08, but I plan to change that around in early 09!

What will 2009 bring? More running, more weight loss, a more healthy life style. I ran 4 5k’s in 2008, I was shocked that I even did one, let alone 4. I plan do lots more this year, and will strive for a well timed 10k. I will resolve to be a bit more organized and always a little bit more patient. I hope to complete more knitting projects .. the key word COMPLETE. Need to get some stuff done! It’s gonna be a good year.

I hope this new year treats you well. You deserve it.

Merry Christmas

Hey ya’ll. Just want to wish all of you out there in bloggie land a very Merry Christmas!!! It’s Christmas Eve and we were up early and out the door for last minute packages. Mia & I went one way, and the boys went the other. As crazy as it was, I thrived on the hustle and bustle of it all, even with the slushy mucky streets & parking lots and the rain coming down. Everyone seemed to be in a jolly mood and sharing their Christmas spirit. We made it and arrived home safely with a bag from Target a latte from Starbucks and some wine & beer. Three of my most favorite spots to shop.

Wish you and yours a very merry day and I hope that Santa is good to you, even if you’ve been a wee bit naughty.

Off to cook. Drink. Nap and then FESTIVATE! <—- new fave word :)

Snow..Snow and more snow

Last Thursday/Friday we had our huge ice storm. When this happened, a lot of trees and branches fell and broke. They were ALL over the place, which then in turn made it hard for folks to walk to/from school and the buses to do their thing. School was then canceled ALL WEEK. 6 days of school canceled, plus the weekend. 8 days, home with my kids. The week before Christmas! This my friends.. means OH SHIT to a procrastinator shopper and had to bust ass and get to the store when Mr. K was home and fill in the odds and ends that I needed too. I still have a few things to buy, but not for M&M .. phew. But I do have to wrap? I guess I’ll be doing that into the wee hours of the night while they are in sweet slumber.
The phone just rang.. school is canceled the next two days. Their last two days before Winter Break. I guess that means no last minute mommy time .. but it’s only two days. They will just have to tag along.

Today.. we are snowed in. I was able to head out early to the grocery and pick up supplies to feed the beasts – We have been out to play and had lots of fun.

The plow just came though.. actually two in a row and has complete buried our driveway.. across the street though.. hardly anything. It drives us CRAZY!

Looks like we’ll have a white Christmas and then some.

Off to nap? knit? watch football? do laundry? read? Shovel? Yup. probably shovel.

BLOG? What blog? OH! this one!

what on earth is going on here? my poor blog has been kicked to the curb and I have no use for it. Well, I do, I just don’t have anything very interseting to write about. Maybe I’m too busy blabbing my words over on PLURK and on FACEBOOK. Maybe I should remember this little piece of cyberspace that I take up and write my words.

So, since we last chatted. I have since came down from my Edward Cullen crush (not completely though, are you nuts!) and am now open to new crush suggestions. I can’t believe it’s only been a week since we all went to see the movie and had a fun Girls night out, that seems so long ago already.

Thanksgiving has came and went. I hope you had an enjoyable holiday! I did something this Thanksgiving that I never thought I would ever do in my lifetime. I ran a 5k! Miles & I bundled up and went out in the brisk morning air, with our personal cheering squad and ran ran ran. It was early, it was chilly and it was awesome. This was my 4th 5k this year and I just have to say, WOW.. GO ME! I can’t wait to see what mileage 2009 brings me and what kind of distance I can get myself up to and how to improve on my times. Never in my life would I think about writing about me RUNNING.. let alone actually running. Miles did great, we stayed together most of the race, he was kind of annoyed, but at the end, he was psyched that he did it, and he had a great sense of accomplishment. Proud mom & dad fo shiz. I lucked out, and my mother in law did ALL the cooking.. ALL! All I had to do was show up with wine & beer and feast. That I did.

We did a wee bit of black friday shopping and went later in the morning. It wasn’t bad at all, had some lunch and then I came home and knitted knitted knitted. I’d love to show you what I’ve been up to in the craft department, but you’ll just have to wait post-Christmas .. or if your on Ravelry .. you can see some of the new stuff there whenever I get it posted.

Today we’ll decorate a little bit and get these holidays started.

I’ll be back sooner than later .. I know your all just DYING to be updated on mi vida loca!

Went out tonight for a surprise birthday dinner for our friend Bethe. Good times! Gooooooood times.

A last minute post, to get the day in. WOOOT.

November 6

I almost missed my post for today! WOOOPS. Nothing much happening here on this gloomy rainy day here. I hadn’t realized that I didn’t sleep well until Mia reminded me that she hadn’t slept well either and that she was oh so tired. So after running some errands after school I thought for sure she was ready to zonk, only to be rewarded with a second wind and no nap in her future. Oh well. Then the boy got home, and I passed out. The last thing I remember is telling them that to wake me up in 10minutes and I would be happy after a quick power nap. 1hr and 10minutes later, my eyes popped open and there they were sitting watching Prehistoric Planet.. no homework had been done.. no one was doing anything, except me – sleeping on the couch. Just one of those days I guess. I did get in a run today outside in the rain, and it felt pretty good. It was warm enough to not freeze and enough of a drizzle to make me feel super cool. haha.. Tomorrow is Friday.. any weekend plans?
