I miss writing.
I missing sharing my knitting & shenanigans with you.
So, it’s time to revamp the look of the blog and get it back up and running.
Hopefully over the next day or so and I’ll have some visitors!

While I was running today, the voices in my head & I were having a conversation about how things are going. Everyone was all a chatter and felt free to voice their opinion about my progress or lack there of. I have been attempting to run and for a year now. I should be well on my way to bigger & better things. Three miles should be nothing to me at this point. Although my speed has increased ( a little) I have this mindset that 3 is as far as I can go and then I’m done. Must get past this. So I went almost 4 on Wednesday and then just 2.5 today.
My goal is to get to the point where I can just run 3 miles every time, without thinking about it and talking myself out of doing less. When is it going to be “just 3miles” , ” a quick 3 miles”. That way I can eventually start to increase my mileage and start again with the back and forth what I think I can or cannot do.
17 days til my first 5k of the year. Must put those voices to rest and shove them to the back of the brain.
Have a great weekend !!! Hopefully I’ll have sort of knitting to show you that actually looks like something!
Do you see what's happening here? She's reading. To me. Green Eggs & Ham. To me. Twice. We could see it coming, we can see her right on the cusp of it all clicking and the words just jumping off the page to her. Today, she made a huge leap. Pretty awesome.

Because two is better than one.. the day just kept getting better. My boy came home with a stellar reportcard of A’s and a dotted with a few B’s. GO BOY GO!
Just yesterday when the girl gave me a run for my money and pushed all those buttons, I told myself today would be better. It HAD to be better. ANYTHING would have been better than Monday. Damn, was it ever!
here we go again. radio silence here at chez knitpho. it’s not that i have been swamped with loads of stuff, again.. your just getting all my goings on over at all the other internet outlets that I love to hate and hate to love.
so what’s been going on with you? fill me in … even though I’ve read your status updates and or tweets.. so I do know whats going. I still read blogs and love to see what my friends near & far are up to.. so I thought I’d give the ‘ol blog a good old fashioned updated. so here’s whats be going on.
Running. Well, this last week I was down & out. I tweaked my back, with a muscle spasm or a pinched nerve and holy shit did it hurt. I could feel it getting worse and then from being so tense and hunched over – my wSohole body just tensed up and after a week, I’m finally almost 100%. It’s hard not to exercise – I mean when you want to and can’t is one thing, but to not go because your lazy is entirely different. I have a 5k in the middle of May, so I have some ground to make up as I am going for a speedier time. Speaking of races… the mister and my boy ran a 5k this past week ( day 1 of pure back torture) and this race was all about Miles and Sandy was just running with him and supporting our son the whole way. Miles ran in 30:14 and holy cow.. he’s awesome. They both are!

Mia ran too … it didn’t go as well. She started out strong, a quick trip and she was done for the day.

NEXT! KNITTING! ….
i knitted this Jane Austren dress from the new mason dixon book.. details on my Rav … she wore it for Easter and it was just the cutest thing ever. The pattern is a wee bit wonky and the fit didn’t go all that right. .but it looks great.

Mia picked out the deep pink print and we seamed up, added a hem and then hand stitched it to the knitted body.
It’s finally warming up here in the great Northeast, so she’ll be able to get some more use out of it.
I am in the midst of a KAL with 4 friends. We’re all knitting the same sweater for all our girlies. from size wee little baby size to Mia being the oldest. Pics soon.. I hope anyway.
So.. that’s the excitment around here- can you see WHY I haven’t updated. Back is finally on the mend and i am at 98% so I hope to start running again this week.. and with the warm temps – I can’t wait to get out there!!!!
Hope all is well with you blogland… hopefully there will be more to blog about since the sunny weather appeared and Im out of my winter blues funk.
that’s knittin’ and readin’ in case you didn’t know. First up.. knitting. I am I’d say..77% done with my CPH. I have the hood to do and then the rest of the front panels.. but I had to take a break from that – yes yes I was going to power through it and get it done, but well, Mia needed THIS. So, I had some lovely knitpicks shine in Turquoise that fit the pattern perfectly and I casted on the 249 sts. OY VEY! Back and forth 11times of seed stitch and then the pattern with the little lace details – it’s coming a long nicely. UNTIL! There is this one row, where you section off, and 30sts.. bind off 61 sts… bind off .. 30sts. Well.. i could NOT get it! I have tinked more rows on this dress than I have knit! Some things just weren’t working for me, the knitting Gods were against. Determined by a cloudy sunday and a daughter who went out to spend time with her daddy,I got it all figured and moved on.

and Im reading again. This time I’ve started the Sookie Stackhouse series .. and well, I like them vampires. So much that I dream that I have breakfast with them at diners. But they were the 30days of night vampires..and they were MEAN!
Off to do a little K & R in intervals, while the princess sleeps ( a little under the weather ) and the boy watches the ever lovable Batman.
My poor little bloggie has really turned into quite the graveyard. I really do love it and love sharing stories from what is going on here at Chez Knitpho – but between all my other online commitments , no thats the word I’m looking for.. all my other online … addictions, something had to give and it looks like the blog took the hit. I mean, Facebook – you know how it is, every day someone new pops up and you have be all stalker like and see how happy they are in their pics, but deep down you know how happy you are that they gained all that weight!! You know I’m right. It’s ok to admit it, I’m right there with you. Ravelry has also taken a back seat, the forums and groups are so bombarded with pointless shit (like what I’m writing right now) and ridiculous groups .. I go to check on my friends stuff and see the new patterns.. and that’s about it. I still love it, don’t get me wrong – but WOW… have you seen some of the stuff going on over there? Twitter.. this is not that big of a time suck, but I do enjoy a quick quip for Martha or Jimmy Fallon or Lord Vador throughout the day. Ofcourse, my google reader and keeping up with my peeps. So, as you see – in between dishes and laundry and playing Operation and Cadoo, I have very little time for blog updates. You cannot expect me to update at night time can you, when the glass is half full, and by that I mean a real glass, half full of vino .. just so we’re clear.
So, bloggieland.. I am back. at least 3x’s a week. Hopefully my updates will include how exciting and thrilling life can be as a stay at home mom.
Stay tuned, and I’ll go find something to write about.
Oh… HAPPY SPRING. FINALLY!
Thanks to my knitting peeps for making me so jealous of all of there’s that I just had to make my own.
That’s about all that’s new from this knitter. Just waiting for the snow to melt and the temps to warm up … we have some serious spring fever going on. It’s getting a bit on the depressing side.
HURRY SPRING! I NEED YOU!!!
hey peeps. long time to chat. well, not really – because as discussed in prior blog update – I see you all over the interweb.
in knitting news. I have become one with knitting on the clapotis. in silk. it is divine. ask my peeps, they’ve fondled, they know of what i speak. so.. last night, I can see the light at the end of tunnel! I see that the third skein of yarn is almost done, and that means my 4th is just used for the decreasing part of pattern. I am in love.

i am stoopid. i missed a dropped stitch row and have to go back and tinktinktink my way back and drop that one row and then work my way back to where I figured out my mistake. yes.. im pissed. I almost want to put it back in time out, but I will power through it and get ‘er done.
This week has been pretty quick and painless considering the kids were on winter break. THE. MOST. POINTLESS. SCHOOL. BREAK. EVER! but, I have no complaints. I’m pleased as punch, as long as the weather holds out, that they WILL go back on Monday. Oh yeah, there’s a giant snow storm supposedly on it’s way .. of course there is.
Off to tinktinktink.
Happy Weekend.
then, last night I settled down and was feeling it. I was a force to be reckoned with. I was one with the yarn and needles. It’s time. The favorite part of the pattern that we all know and love (who’ve knitted it) DROPPING STITCHES TIME! Wait.. what? What’s that I see?
