Exercise. I don’t. Do you?
I am SO stupid. This time last year I was (not so much) lean mean running working out machine. I was going to the gym 3-4 days a week. I was running 4 days a week. I was preparing to run a turkey trot 5k with my 10 year old on Thanksgiving morning. I was in da zone. This year. I’m lumpy – er. Why do we do this to ourselves. I say we and ourselves in the most general of terms. If you are this person, who sets a goal, reaches that said goal. Then just starts rolling backwards, so fast that it’s hard to go forward again, and your once reached goal.. is just a memory.
I was all set to get my laces lace and game face ON. I got the gym class schedule and was ready get back in the routine of gym IMMEDIATELY after I drop of the M’s at school! But, it’s just so easy to turn left instead of right an head on home. Now, I have been a wee bit preoccupied these last few week. As my dear friend tells me .. all we can do is move forward. So, that I shall.
So, STARTING MONDAY .. yeah..thats right. MONDAY.. who starts an exercise regime on a Friday. Dumbasses, that’s who. I’ll hit the gym. Maybe try my first go at pilates. Wish me luck!
Another late post to the old blog. Tonight I had my knit night with my fave girls and let me tell you, they do not disappoint. I laughed so hard, I turned a lovely shade of purple. You know, one of those silent laughs that you can’t even tell your peeps what your laughing at because you CAN. NOT. BREATHE. Yeah.. one of those awesome kind of nights. Sigh.
I casted on for a new project tonite, and after only 10 tries, I finally got started. I am knitting Clapotis (part deux). This one is for my mama. I bought this yummy delicious yarn while at NY Sheep & Wool.. aka RHINEBECK.

It’s a lovely blend of blues and purples. I might not give it up.. I kid I kid. This is knit with lots of love and special memories and thoughts. ALl for my mom!
I almost missed today! ALMOST. It’s 11:06pm and I thought.. I better go write something real quick, even though my “blog might suck and my grammar might too”. Would you believe someone took the time out of their pathetic miserable life to write that in my comments.
Well, to whoever wrote it, I’m rubber and your glue…
In other exciting riveting Chez Knitpho news, I finished a pretty big knitting project, but you’ll have to wait to see. I know, I’m sure your on pins & needles – but still .. It’s a surprise for someone, so you’ll just have to wait. Now, while I’ve finished that, I have seekrit mittenz to knit, and I’m super excited about that, but what to knit at knit night tomorrow night? The malabrigo drop stitch scarf I started ions ago? It might just have to do in the meantime, because my main knitting focus is the mittens.
Still illin’ .. this cough sucks. I can’t believe that my poor Mia has been dealing with this for like 4 weeks. How does she stand it and want to get out of bed in the morning. Yuck.
I know I said I was going to show you Rhinebeck purchases, but that’ll have to wait to, seeing as I haven’t photo’d any of it.
But if you do wanna see photos.. GO HERE. My friend Kathryn & I do a photo O the day blog.
Hasta manana.
What’s this? Two posts, two days in a row? Even feeling like crap.. here I am posting. Looks like the germies finally found their way to my system and they are trying their damndest to take me down. I will not let them defeat me. Mia has been coughing for weeks now, just coughing. No other symptons.. there is only so much cough medicine you can give a petite 5 year old, before she starts jonesing for the stuff and it really doesn’t even work anyway. So.. I put the end to that and just let her cough. What can you do? Except get sick yourself.
Since posting from the circus, my parents have came & gone. I loved having them here and it was hard for me to see them go back to Colorado. I don’t know when my next trip home will be, nor do I know when they’ll be here next. Sigh. So, we enjoyed the time we had with them here and the kids just relished in the spoils of the g’rents.
The only thing that makes it easier to say so long to my parents.. are these gals.

That’s us at Rhinebeck.. I’ll show what I bought soon!
Hello Friends!!
Well. It’s NaBloPoMo..and lets see if I can blog EVERY DAMN DAY! What a miracle it will be if I can make it eh..
I do have things to share with you, I just haven’t taken the time to put it here.. so I’ll give it a go.. once again.
Starting, tomorrow!
HAPPY NOVEMBER!
Mia,
How did it go by so fast?
WHY does it go by so fast?
Your 5 today.
We had the most fantastic day celebrating you and you turning this magical number.
This year, you have learned so many things.. you have said some of the funniest things I have ever heard in my lifetime. You’ve been places, you’ve seen things, you’ve made this world a better place. Well, my world anyway. I love to watch you watch the space around you. You take everything in. You take the time to enjoy. You take the time to appreciate every little thing. Your thankful, your grateful, your lovable and kind. Your learning to so many things, sometimes it gets to be just too much and you might to start to breakdown, nothing a little quiet reading time won’t cure. You do love to read… and we are so impressed with you!
You had a fantastic birthday weekend. A little family gathering … and then a funfilled day at the circus. It was a total surprise, and your eyes lit up and you were so excited. I wish I could have froze time and just stayed right there with you in that precious moment. Pure and total joy. Nothing like it, ever.
Happy Birthday Mia Alexis… you rock my world.
Love, Mommy.

brrrrr. It’s chilly this morning. It’s one of those morning that’s crisp. The leaves crackled under us while we walked to the school this morning. The brisk little breeze, just enough to remind you that fall is indeed here and it’s the perfect time of year for delicious handknits. Like a dreamy warm and cozy Central Park Hoodie knitted in a red wine colored wool, with delicious cables.

(it took me a LONG time, but I finally finished (minus a zipper) my CPH. I love my wool cardi)
October is turning out to be one of my favorite months. Not as favorite as July, but it’s a very close second. As much as I am not a fan of the cooler temps …
October means cornstalks,pumpkins,mums…candy corn.
October means my parents are coming to Massachusetts
October means our baby girl turns 5.
October means the Patriots play the Broncos.
October means RHINEBECK.
October means Halloween
I hope you enjoy this fall month as much as I plan too.. Happy October!
Summer has come and gone. I say this every year, but this summer was one of the best summers I can remember having. I guess that’s how it is with kids and family.. each year you just add to the long list of fantastic memories. You don’t forget the summer before, it just filed away. I love summer. I love the warm hot sun and even the few days a year that the humidity is unbearable, I miss those already to. I don’t however, miss shaving my legs… sorry husband. You’ll have to learn to love the stubble.
The leaves are starting to change .. my M’s are full swing into school and come excited every day to tell us what they did that day. Thankfully, school (for the most party) (and for the time being) comes easy to both of them – and most nights aren’t to hellish with homework.
Right around the corner, my baby girl is about to turn 5. My parents are coming. My friendships are getting even stronger, while some have been deleted. Mr Knitpho & I will be an aunt & uncle come winter – when stupid snow is on the ground.
Im just not ready for summer to be over.. but if that means enjoying all the good things that are going on right now .. I’ll file this summer away and see what this season can bring me.
Happy Fall!
Suddenly there is a buzz of fruit flies around the house. What the hell … so I start wiping down everything and try to eliminate the problem. Hmmm… they are hard little suckers to get rid of, no?
So, last night, as I walk into Miles’ room .. I see a plethora of them, more than I see in any other part of the house …
me: Miles? They seem to be coming from your room? Do you have food in here?
Miles: huh? no. only that rotten banana that I threw away in the garbage can.
me: WHAT! OMG. your kidding… From DURANGO! ?? 3 WEEKS AGO?!
Miles: uh, yeah.. I guess so.
Lovely… just lovely. So, I made him empty his garbage and he was SO grossed out by it.. I’m like.. dude? are you for realz?
It was funny though, I couldn’t help but laugh …

This is the most fun little sweater to knit.. EVER. This is the baby surprise jacket by Elizabeth Zimmerman. It is such a fascinating project. You cast on. You start to knit and it looks like a big blob of nothing except garter stitch rows. I kept thinking to myself, what was this lady thinking and how in the world is this going to become ANYTHING, ever? But, I was told to keep faith and just keep knitting… so I did.
See? Really now.
But when all is said and done, you fold it up nice and neat. Sew the seams of the arms along the shoulders down to the cuffs of the sleeve. PRESTO.. a sweater. Isn’t just adorable?
This was knit for my friends bebe, who is actually the sister in law of my sister in law, who is also expecting her first little bundle in late December. The baby boy welcomed into the world on August 20. I hope he enjoys this sweater as much as enjoyed knitting it up for him.
