I think that I may have you beat on the family illness. On January 25 oldest daughter faited after a soccer game. So responsible mom brought daughter to UMass ER where she was promptly admitted. She is fine, nothing serious. Two days later she announced that her boyfriend had mono. Father and younger sister are having a field day with the whole "kissing disease" reference. Quick on the phone to Child Health Associates to check the lab work from the weekend hospital stay. Lab work clear - no elevated white count, but her drug screen was positive for motrin. Went for follow up at CHA this past Tuesday 2/2 and the white blood cell count is growing rapidly! Dr. Amy Beth said she should be in full blown mono by the weekend! My type A high school junior is trying to get the symptoms to hold off until February vacation so she doesn't miss any school. I do believe there is something seriously wrong with her - and it ain't the mono.
