… illin'
Posted in mi vida loca on 06. Feb, 2009
What a week my friends. It was one of those weeks that FLEW by, but at the same time you could just hear the second hand on the clock, tick tick ticking away. Each second getting louder in your brain and you just want to run away screaming. Yeah, that’s pretty much it.
Last week, Mr. Knitpho got sick. I know, your thinking oh no..Poor Mrs Knitpho. We all know how those menfolk can get when the sniffles settle in. MANFLU! But, he wasn’t exaggerating, and he was really sick! It was so real infact, that he passed it along to me and well, he was fine & dandy a few days later and I’m lucky enough to still be illin’. Not as lucky as dear daughter. She started with the sniffles, then the cough, then her eye got a little gunky, then the other eye.. then her ears started to hurt. So, I finally decided that my medical degree from I don’t know shit univeristy wasn’t going to cut it, and took her to the see the doc. Well, turned out – she’s sick! She (has/had) 1 full blown ear infection, the start of another in the other ear. Sinus Infection. Pink eye.. both eyes! And ..your common cold to give it a nice rounding effect. Did she like, lick a door knob somewhere and lick her own eyeballs? I swear! So, we’re pretty much quarantine until things start to clear up. The meds have broke ground and I see can a very small light at the end of the tunnel. But wait, let me go clear the crap from the corner of my eye and go rub them so they stop itching. Yup… I think it’s making it’s way to mama.
So, I feel like we’ve been home since the beginning of time. I was thankful for last Saturday and being able to go out on a ‘date’ with my husband – we got to see Slumdog Millionaire, and if you have not seen it.. go! It is fantastic!!! I am also very lucky the mister took over and I got to hang with the knitting crew for much needed laughter and relaxation AND knitting. Except I had to come home and frog the 4″ ribbing that I did, cuz I used the wrong size needles. Dang!
Stay healthy and have a great weekend!

I think that I may have you beat on the family illness. On January 25 oldest daughter faited after a soccer game. So responsible mom brought daughter to UMass ER where she was promptly admitted. She is fine, nothing serious. Two days later she announced that her boyfriend had mono. Father and younger sister are having a field day with the whole “kissing disease” reference. Quick on the phone to Child Health Associates to check the lab work from the weekend hospital stay. Lab work clear – no elevated white count, but her drug screen was positive for motrin. Went for follow up at CHA this past Tuesday 2/2 and the white blood cell count is growing rapidly! Dr. Amy Beth said she should be in full blown mono by the weekend! My type A high school junior is trying to get the symptoms to hold off until February vacation so she doesn’t miss any school. I do believe there is something seriously wrong with her – and it ain’t the mono.
a casualty of knit night – frogging! Hope your posse is all better soon
Get well soon, Pinky PusEye.
Everyone in this house needs a bleach dip. Gross!! Feel better soon–I haven’t been hit yet, but MJ just went down.
