a true story

A little heartwarming story, that happened right here in MY house! I had ordered the boy to DO THE DISHES and ofcourse the little helper had to help, as only she knows how. As I set them on their way and worked my way downstairs to ofcourse read my cosmo and eat my bonbons.. I could hear my little M&M’s, working as team.. getting it done. A few minutes later I hear Miles say to Mia, I have 2 things to tell you..(i started to work my way back upstairs, because really, who knew WHAT he might say to her!) and he says – you have to remember them for always. She says .. ok! He tells her.. #1. I am your big brother. I will always be your big brother. I will be there for whenever you need me for whatever you need – that’s what big brothers do. Do you understand? .. she replies, I understand. Thank you Miles. and he says and #2. I love you. I love you just as much as mom & dad love us. I’m proud your my little sister. .. with an I love you too Miles… the conversation was over and they were on their way. I sat at the bottom of my stairs, listening to the two of them laugh together and work together. My eyes all welled up and my heart was beating so fast it was almost hard to breath.
Nothing.. and I mean NOTHING gets better than that. Ever.

If I ever grow up and have kids of my own, you’re raising ‘em for me. I don’t see it happening, but just in case…
Those two kids are quite possibly the best kids I’ve ever met.
Oh my god, that made me well up! Could they be any sweeter? I don’t think so.
What a beautiful moment. Thank you for sharing.
OMG. I welled up just reading it. What a wonderful moment – you know you are doing something right.
On the other hand, my 2yo just walked up to his 17yo sister and kicked her in the shin because he bumped his head on the bookshelf and clearly it was her fault.
That is so sweet. It gives me hope
Oh my gosh that’s amazing (and of course, I was thinking, my son would NEVER UTTER THOSE WORDS ALOUD…I AM SO JEALOUS!!) Glad you got to overhear such a sweet exchange!!
Awww. So, how much do you charge for daycare? I’d like to enroll my future children now.
Best little conversation ever. Made me welly!
I’m totally crying in my coffee. That was SO FREAKIN’ SWEET. You must be so proud. What great kids you have there.
Merry Christmas to YOU! That’s the best gift EVAHHHHHH!
Well that even made me cry. Give me a call sometime I have lots of news some good some bad.
That is too adorable. Well done M.
(sniff, sniff)… Geez, way to get me crying first thing in the morning…
Okay, just reading that made my eyes well up! What sweet kids you have Melody!
