HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Wow.. it’s the end of October already? Was I just not cruising around with the sunroof open and deep dark tan lines? I am sad to see summer go but I will welcome the rest of fall and winter, but not with open arms. Today!! Today is Halloween. Are you skeeeeered? Yesterday, I packed up my kids in all their costumed glory and we headed to a local cemetery – why? this is why …

mmmm. brains.

… now wouldn’t you much rather see a doctor turned zombie in a graveyard more than you would like to see it on my front porch or my living room? Miles got really into it, and this is just a cemetery we pass every day – what I really wanted to do was go to a so called ‘haunted cemetery’ and I will.. tomorrow.. by myself and see if I will be welcomed with open arms to the 8th Gate of Hell. (one of the rumors of the graveyard!) Then … there is Mia. Mia has two costumes this year … for her school party they were all story book characters to avoid weapons and scary thing.. I mean gheez! they are 3 and 4 years old after all! :) So.. here she is..

Mia Ballerina

I had been working on the tutu and made that out of 3 yards of toole and then on Wednesday .. I ‘whipped’ up the ears and the tail and voila … we have Angelina Ballerina. She looked so stinking cute – and I have to pat myself on the back for making it happen. I love that she wasn’t a princess like all the other girls … and it wasn’t store bought!! Plus it makes it special for her to, that I took the time to do this special for her :)

but.. then there is this Mia too. The girl has many sides to her personality. She went from oh so chipper ballerina to a true little witch!!!

witch-ay woman

This picture CRACKS me up. It captures her mood at the end of a long day and annoyed with her mommy forcing to do such silly stunts. Her Auntie Holly summed it up the best by she looks like she’s saying… “I sweep and I sweep..and the damn leaves just keeping blowing!”

So, I will drop off the kids for their day at school and I am off to find this cemetery that has me oh so intrigued and I hope to capture some fantastic photographs and maybe meet a ghost. Then, it’s a night full of Trick or Treating and eating candy til I can’t eats no more!

Have a spooooooooky Halloween and if you don’t hear from me ever again.. .the 8th Gate has opened and welcomed me home.

Great costumes……I always made the costumes for my boys……and I “think” I know which cemetary you are heading to…..it was one of the places we went every year when I was growing up….if you can imagine a friend of mine bought a “hearse” and need I say more….Enjoy the Day!

So AWESOME! I love their costumes. I like the fact that if they were warm clothes you can still see their costumes.

Good luck today when you go visit your home away from home, aka the 8th Gate of Hell ;) . Hardy, har.
