I went to Rhinebeck!

On a beautiful crisp fall morning, 5 ladies set out to Rhinebeck, NY. I’m sure you’ve heard of the NY Sheep and Wool Festival, I mean.. I’ve heard of it, but you cannot appreciate the magnitude of it until you go and experience it for yourself. It was a 3hour beautiful drive with a lot of laughter, chatter, and knitting (not by me, my hands were busy steering!) through Massachusetts into upstate New York. We made good time, only to be stopped by the masses all going into the fairgrounds. Finally, we were in and instantly entranced by the smells of all thing delicious and divine… fair food. You know.. fried dough, bloomin’ onions, apple pie, BEER.. it was endless… then came the yarn. I got dizzy. Barn after barn, hall after hall, booth after booth of all things fiber. Alpaca.. sheep..llama.. anything your heart desired, was there waiting for you.
Steph and I hit the Blue Moon booth first, the line was about… oh 50people deep and we didn’t want to wait until ater, in fear it would be picked over. So, we braved the line and whilst in line, I started spotting people who I was determined to see and maybe even talk to. Let the Kinnearing begin …

First off Scout…I Kinneared Scout! and then

Splityarn talking to Scout & Pepperknit. Outside after the socks that rock line, I did say hi to Caro (splityarn!) and had a nice little chat with her.
I also Kinneared Splityarn! :)

Then I Kinneared the Harlot I Kinneared the Harlot

Then I met the bad ass knitter herself aka Pam from LickMySticks. We go way back, but have never met and then, finally crossed paths toward the end of the day. Her photo.. that I stole from her flickr page ;)

Then…this.
holy mother of all that is ...
an entire jacket … made of fun fur. Enough said.

3 of group went by bus and we met them there … none of us got lost. none of us went into labor, which is fortunate, considering only one of us is preggy, due in less a month no less! I have more pics.. but I think this is enough for now… except one more. Not only are these ladies my knitting group .. they are my friends.. and damn am I lucky.

good times...

Jen, Me, Bethe, Erin, Melissa, Hollis, Steph & Heather.
