Bribery is the best means of coping. I always promise a "special snack/drink" in the car. It's usually a snack they have seen in the grocery and begged for but I wouldn't buy. Dole it out in small amounts. Or buy a new cd she loves but ONLY play it when you pick her up. I suffered through a bunch of damned British kids singing "Thomas the Tank Engine" for years, but it got the boys out of school. My last suggestion is you pick her up and then pop your own earplugs in for the crying ride home!! It goes away...it will... I have had this delightful experience in the past as well. By the way, now that Mia is in school when do we get together??? Alana asks about Mia all the time!! One day when Mr. Knitpho is home.. we gotta take the girls out in the afternoon.
