so long summer …

Summer vacation is over. Over. We had a great summer, we did some fun things and Miles & Mia made some new friends. We got a lot of outside time in and I have no complaints of what our summer brought to us, except you know .. the usual. That it was over in a blink of an eye and now I’m having a hard time dealing with the fact that I have a kid going into 5th grade and turning 10 all in one week and that my baby, my partner in crime during the day – is going to pre-school! GULP!

I thought I was ok, I thought I was ready to spread my wings and be alone for a while during the day, come to find out, I’m a little nervous. A little panicky.

Thankfully I have a great support group. My hubby ofcourse who thinks it’s time for me to be on my own and do something productive without a 3year old in tow, my parents who have always been supportive of what challenge might come my way, my friends near & far – who have faith in me that I am strong enough to be without mini-me for two and a half hours, 5 days a week.

But, even with all the support – tomorrow, at 9:15am… life is going to hit me like a ton of bricks.

Ms.M will come home exhausted and bear-like, and Mr.M will be on a tear with a million half-explained assignments. One week of that, and you’ll be getting over the first “empty nest” with no trouble! ;)

Trust me you’ll be fine…..enjoy your time alone……I know you will miss them…..but think of all the knitting you can get done…

I know the feeling – and I go through the same thing every year. I still cry on the first day of school and feel like I’ll never get through the day without my partner – and she’s going into 6th grade. Have a good cry and a glass of wine when they all get home safe and sound.

At first, it will feel like you accidentally left your purse or car keys somewhere. And then you’ll get used to it! But I bet your mind will be on Miss Mia tomorrow…meanwhile she’ll be having a blast.

    Two words…STar.Bucks…

    Good luck!!
