really now, can I be more boring?

Where O where has any motivation gone? Did it sneak into a suitcase and wing it’s way west? It must have, because I have absolutely none to speak of. I can’t think of anything that I want to do. Knitting wise, I’m thinking of making me a purse for spring and this will most likely be what I do. There are so many great bags out there, and the options are limitless. But, I want to find the perfect color and the perfect pattern and then…create! I have been using my sewing machine too.. and it is a stressful little creature to deal with, I think. What is UP with that freakin’ bobbin? Really now, with all the technology that we see in the world, can they not come up with something any simpler to get that bobbin thread up? I think I used a an entire spool of thread doing this alone…and who knew thread was as expensive as it was! I mean, you know.. it isn’t ‘expensive’ but ..honey, it ain’t cheap. I thought when you walked into a yarn store and got sucked into the abyss of all the yummy fibers that this would be my downfall, oh no… a fabric store is much much worse. I guarantee, once I know what I’m actually doing, I better start looking for some sort of paying gig to support my habits.

In the meantime, I am getting my house into order, for a family of 2 adults and 2 kids. Not 4 adults. Trying to start everyone in the habit of PUT YOUR OWN STUFF AWAY. This is a tough one, but I will make it work, to save my sanity. Everyone always feels free to bring whatever their little heart desires out of the room.. but you know, it never makes it back. It seems like eventually ever little corner has neat little piles of junk all over. This is a 2008 resolution for the knitpho household, we’ll see how long it lasts.

Also, I joined up in the ABC-along. You can sedetails here and it’s also on Ravelry and Flickr. Starting off of course with the letter A. Finding an “A” is harder than I thought.. I have one or two in mind, but I’ll put my deciding “A” up tomorrow. With a photo. Thats the name of the game.

Ok, I’m off to be productive for the morning, so I can knit tonight. Or sew. Or drink. Or sleep. We’ll see where the day takes me.

When you figure out the “put your own stuff away” thing, would you let me know about it? Because our house looks like it’s thrown up all over itself.

Enjoy your day and try to relax a bit! =)

Im our house, we’ve started using the “if you don’t put it away… I’m going to THROW IT IN THE TRASH!” It works about 35.8% of the time. And of course I’m too much of a Suckah to actually throw anything in the trash!

Putting things in your room is the family mantra for 2008. I am so tired of stepping over dance bags, school bags, shoes, and coats that are just dropped at the front door.
This is after last year’s “do your own laundry from now on”. That one worked so I’m optimistic.

Knitting is relaxing for me, but sewing keys me all up. Very nerve wracking. Wish I was a better sewer. Good luck! My boyss are older than yours and they never put anything away. I swear I spend more time pickup rather than actual cleaning. I got to whip those boyss into shape. Let me know if your find out any secrets ;)

OH MY…the bobbin. Don’t even start me. I had to have Kathryn come finally after weeks of not figuring out the damn thing, and when she showed me how to do it, I felt like a dumbass. Look for a tutorial onscreen maybe??? And get Bend the Rules SEwing…a good way to ease into the sewing scene.

Who am I to talk? I haven’t spoken to my Singer since last fall when it pissed me off!! But it is a lot of fun and a rush when it goes right…
