cancelled
Posted in rambling. on 03. Dec, 2007
like most of us, we all have our morning routine to start off our days the best way we think we know how. to make the rest of the day just flow. most days, you & i both know that this doesn’t work, but we like to try anyway – just to see how much it can get screwed up in the shortest amount of time possible. this is the game i like to play anyway. sometimes, i make it all the way through to the afternoon without any incident, this happens i’d say about maybe twice a month. these days are glorious and you tend to cherish them since they happen so few and far between.
at 545 this morning i heard Mr. Knitpho scrape scrape scraping the ice off his car since his side of the garage is being used as a storage unit at the moment.. I got up and wished him a better rest of the day and to BE SAFE. Then … I went back to bed like a good little wifee. Then the alarm went off and I got my brood up as usual, made breakfast, made the boy lunch and then I thought.. hmmm? I wondered if there is a delay? No, there couldn’t be, there is less than an inch of snow on the ground! Maybe a delay, they cancel for 3 extra snowflakes outside the norm around these parts.. So, I flip on the TV and what to do I see.
**MELODY, YOUR KID IS GOING TO BE HOME ALL DAY! SCHOOL IS CANCELLED! **
ok ok, it might not have said those exact words, but thats what I saw. I love my boy, but I love when he’s at school and I continue on with my Monday madness with just one obnoxious 3 year old…not with the boy who eggs his sister on beyond my limits. So, here I am.. home with both of them with a list of things to do close to a mile long, and it’s a sheet of ice outside, I guess we’re homebound. But, my son? really? do you not know your mommy at all? Must you ask me to play a board game at 747am??? asking if we can bake cookies? asking if we can go out into the snow? asking if we watcha movie?(that was maybe a yes!) asking asking asking! When mummy hasn’t even had her first cup of coffee.. while I am still digesting CANCELLED..while the coffee is taking it’s sweet time brewing..HURRY UP COFFEE POT! Drip you piece of crap. DRIP!
Ok,see.. I’m having a small break down. I best go and pour a cuppa and watch these ding dongs on the street behind me try to make it up their icey hill.. it really is quite entertaining!
I knitted this weekend.. I’ll show you guys later. The (part of) the sleeve! Suspenseful, eh?

Stay strong, sister… stay strong! I’d tell you to enjoy your day, but that would be a down right ridiculous thing to say to you today! Well… enjoy your coffee, anyway.
Sounds like you need a little shot of Bailey’s in that coffee.
Hope school’s not cancelled tomorrow!
*You make children sound fun*
I know you can do it! I’m still “digesting” no heat in my office and my computer died……and the weather outside is frighful…and I have to get to AC Moore on the way home for more Scarf yarn( unless you went out last nite and bought it all up)…..wine…wine…wine…(oops I meant Whine)….

Oh no! I remember watching the news on snowy nights hope hope hoping to see the scrolling words “Mahomet-Seymour– CLOSED” But, no, it seemed like our school was never closed/cancelled. Every school within about 100 miles is closed and we still had to go…… For you, I hope he has very few snow days this year
It was very slippery here, but no cancellations or delays. I was worried about driving to Wellesley this morning (I had allergy testing) but the roads were fine, thank goodness. Glad you are all safe and sound. I’m not a big fan of snow days either or the half-days (10:40 dismissals are just too short of a day. What can you possibly get done???)
happy knitting …can’t wait to see more of the sweater
No snow day here. Just windy. Stay tough, baby!
